3B attended REDucation in September and had a wonderful time shooting with the Epic M. This was RED’s first Epic only course.  We got a great feel for what the camera can do, and WOW it can do alot. Seeing your dailies projected at 4K was very impressive.  RED provided us with amazing TA’s that answered all of our questions and gave us good insight into how to get the most out of the cameras.  REDucation was worth every penny and more.  A speacial thanks to Andrew Benz, I couldn’t have asked for a better TA.

The frame-grab shown here is from a short film we have been working on called “Fixing You”.  The image depicts an early morning scene in a kitchen with moonlight (created) flooding the room.  Lit with a 650w frenals with a full CTB.  The cameras white balance settings was set for Tungsten.

The two actors really pop out at to you. We accomplished this by surrounding them with darkness. I think lighting the scene this way also helped in showing the powerful emotions of the characters.
